NOCN Level 2 NVQ Diploma for Insulation and Building Treatments (Construction) -Cold Roof Insulation qualification/pathway has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means the learner must be employed to undertake this qualification. This qualification enables the learner, to recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding as well as demonstrating their competence in the workplace when carrying out the role of cold roof insulation.

The purpose of this standard is to provide the delegate with the knowledge to further support their learning with the following:

As well as informing you about the risks of working with asbestos, the course will deliver a lot more information about: Recognising asbestos, where it's used, minimising the risks and the legislation about working with asbestos.

• Handling, storage and moving brick slip systems on site 

• Health and safety precautions to be considered 

• Pointing brick slip systems on site

• Rereading manufacturers’ specifications and drawings to be able to fit brick slip systems safely and efficiently

The new PASMA e-card is has now been launched, both card & certificate will be issued the same day 

The purpose of this standard is to provide the delegate with the knowledge to support the following:

•Understanding current legislation, standards and official guidance

•Checking the suitability, compatibility and characteristics of the materials, components and finishes and determine if they are moisture open or moisture closed and their impact on the building

•Carrying out pre-installation checks

•Identifying common building defects

•Recording and reporting issues or defects with materials

•Implication of the type of construction and materials for the introduction of energy efficiency measures

•Sequencing of energy efficiency measures

•Understanding how continuity of insulation and building treatments can prevent problems

•Causes of mould and fungal decay

•Impact of ventilation and air flow

•Specific requirements for buildings and structures with statutory protection, of traditional construction, hard to treat and buildings of historical significance

This qualification has been developed in response to the Government’s agenda to meet Net Zero targets by 2050, and the impact this will have on the domestic retrofit sector, in driving up the number of domestic retrofit installations required, and the need for these to be assessed correctly and professionally. It also aligns with the requirements of the PAS 2035 standard, which sets out minimum qualification requirements for Retrofit Assessors.

This qualification is designed for individuals already qualified in site/building project management to gain a qualification in the project coordination and risk management of domestic retrofit projects, as well as providing a route for those already working in a retrofit capacity but lacking specific qualifications.

The qualification will equip learners with the specific knowledge and skills to deliver domestic retrofit projects to the standards detailed in PAS2035.

The Retrofit Coordinator role is mandatory for all retrofit projects undertaken in conjunction with PAS 2035 which is fully backed by the government and TrustMark.

The qualification is assessed through a combination of a mandatory end of qualification knowledge test, professional discussion(s) and externally set, internally marked scenario case study.

This Level 1 – Health & Safety in a Construction Environment test is on line, after completion of this test, you must then sit the CSCS test at a test centre, 

• The purpose and aim of this unit is to provide the learner with the skills and knowledge required in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Assessment To achieve this unit, the learner needs to demonstrate that they can meet all the learning outcomes for the unit.

• The assessment criteria determine the standard required to achieve the unit through a variety of assessment methods appropriate to the delivery environment Progression.

• On completion of this qualification learners will be prepared to progress to level 1 Certificates / Diploma’s or a level 2 qualification in a range of occupations within the sector, this could include but not limited to apprenticeships.

• Learners must achieve a total of 3 credits, by completing the mandatory unit within the qualification.
